As we get closer to the end of 2014, I find myself being asked more frequently about smart home care tips going into Winter.

Below I have included a few ideas of what home owners can do not just to prepare their homes for sale in the Spring, but ideas for overall upkeep before the depths of winter temperatures set in.

Things to do now to sell in the Spring:

– Plant bulbs

– Get pictures of your home that include trees with great foliage.

– Weed out your winter clothes and coats that you do not use anymore and donate them now while the charitable drives are going on.

Things to do every Fall:

– Drain your sprinkler systems and outdoor faucets.

– Have your furnace serviced, or at least, drain the rust out of your steam system. (Contact me to find out how to do this).

– Have an energy audit of your home and see where you can save money through insulation, replacement windows, etc.
